Linen Tea Towel “Galateo - Forchetta” – “Etiquette – Fork”. Galateo: The Rules of Polite Behavior (Il Galateo, overo de' costumi) by Florentine Giovanni Della Casa was published in 1558. It was a guide to what one should do and avoid in ordinary social life, this courtesy book of the Renaissance explores subjects such as dress, table manners, and conversation. It became so popular that the title, which refers to the name of one of the author’s distinguished friends, entered into the Italian language as a general term for social etiquette! Printed on natural linen and framed with a deep orange border is a collection of 30 different sized and brightly coloured forks, Galateo would have informed the reader what each piece of cutlery was to be used for. This linen tea towel is absorbent and lint free, excellent for drying, polishing glassware and crockery. Hanging loop top right.

Washing Instructions: Machine washable at up to 40°C. For the best results let the tea towel dry naturally. Dry cleaning and tumble drying can weaken the linen fibres. It is recommended to wash the tea towel a few times prior to usage as this increases the absorbency.

Pure linen printed tea towel.
