Ulster Weavers

Ulster Weavers was founded in 1880 close to the city of Belfast. Throughout the late 19th and early 20th century the company spun, wove, bleached and finished linen. Ireland and Ulster became famous for good quality linen.

Today Ulster Weavers is divided into two divisions, Ulster Weavers Apparel and Ulster Weavers Home Fashions. The Home Fashion division is responsible for designing and producing high quality kitchen textiles utilising their 135 years of textile experience.

Ulster Weavers Home Fashions has held the royal warrant as suppliers of kitchen textiles to Queen Elizabeth II since 1995. For the last 800 years, British Monarchs have bestowed the royal warrant on companies providing goods and services to members of the royal family for more than five years. In the UK and abroad the royal warrant is a mark of excellence and is highly regarded. You too can experience this by purchasing some of their lovely tea towels. Ulster Weavers have just re-branded and some of the new stock of tea towels will carry the new Ulster Weavers sew in labels and hand tags without the royal warrant.

The tea towels are either linen or cotton and a number of the cotton tea towels are printed in the UK.
